THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Spark Woodfire Grill Restaurant Review:
Spark continues to be a hot Valley foodie haunt. It's also hot, literally, in the glassed-in kitchen, where wood fires fuel the rotisserie, grill and pizza oven. The cozy, approachable dining room is more relaxed, with linen-clad, candlelit tables surrounded by wine racks. After starters like locally produced burrata or fried calamari with tartar sauce and habanero-vanilla vinegar, you’d be wise to consider the inventive wood-fired pizzas, topped with lamb sausage, grilled treviso and cipollini onions; or smoked salmon, crème fraîche, red onions and capers. For pastas, there’s the de rigueur lasagna, and a more decadent lobster mac ‘n’ cheese. Entrées conveying comfort yet incorporating innovation include a 17-spice roasted chicken with mustard jus, a half-pound Kobe burger or the crab-stuffed whitefish with sage-butter sauce. Finish with tiramisu or a house-made peanut butter pie. Whether ordering an unpretentious wine by the glass or opting for a heavyweight from the reserve list, Spark proves to be very versatile.
