THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Sterling's Cafe Restaurant Review:
Freshness is the key to success at Sterling's, where the eclectic menu changes with the season. The summer calls for lightweights like shrimp and saffron linguine or pasta Milanese with tomatoes, baby spinach, artichokes and garlic tossed with angel hair pasta in a white wine sauce. In the winter (if there is such a season in Florida), chow down on heavier fare such as the house specialty, lamb du jour, with a goat cheese crust in beurre rouge. Crème brûlée is a knock-out dessert year-round. Sterling's has been in business since 1984, and though the restaurant is located in the affluent neighborhood of Avondale, it draws its clientele from all parts of the city. Ask for a seat in the courtyard around the wedding cake-shaped fountain and sip your Chardonnay under the stars.
