THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED LOCATIONS Surya Restaurant Review:
Burnt-orange walls and cozy sofas complement the richly intricate menu. The cuisine, Southern Indian with French overtones, is intriguing. Among the best bets: saag ghost (lamb cooked in a spinach purée garnished with fresh ginger); cubes of salmon cooked with sprouted green lentils and seasoned with mustard seeds and curry leaves; daal surya, the traditional Punjabi preparation of black lentils simmered overnight over a slow fire and seasoned with cumin and ginger; and desserts including yogurt-style pudding. Brunch is available during summer.
