Swiss Lakewood Restaurant Restaurant Review:
Thank goodness continental cuisine --- a style that once defined fine dining in the U.S. --- still survives in pleasant restaurants like Swiss Lakewood, where duck à l’orange, wiener schnitzel and spinach salad prepared tableside with hot bacon dressing still have a place. The wine list covers Europe’s classic regions, including some young, first-growth Bordeaux. We especially like the Pouilly-Fumé de Ladoucette, a longtime Loire favorite hard to find in Tahoe. Elsewhere, Lakewood’s look (ah, Bavaria!) would be Alpenkitsch, but here, in its longtime piney setting, the restaurant charms.
