Table 45 Restaurant Review:
Table 45, located inside InterContinental Cleveland, is airy, modern and sleek. The wood is blond, frosted glass is plentiful, and the private booths pique one’s curiosity as to the activity within. The menu from local chef Zack Bruell is equally fresh and evocative with a spotlight on India, Asia and the Middle East, redefined with an American accent. Among the extensive list of international appetizers are the Thai curried mussels, served with a coconut curry sauce; and Italian burrata paired with arugula and an olive-caper tapenade. Salad, meat and fish selections draw inspiration from equally far-flung ports of call, but perhaps the most enduring dishes are those that seem closest to Cleveland in spirit, like the Argentinean grilled Ohio flat-iron steak accompanied by a crispy potato cake and an herbed sauce. Among desserts is the ginger spice cake with tangy orange curd. Wines are well chosen and servers are attentive and knowledgeable.
