THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Takashimaya Teabox Cafe Restaurant Review:
Patrons at this tranquil teahouse and café---located in the basement of Fifth Avenue’s Takashimaya department store---order tea from the more than 35 varieties (starting at $3.50 a pot), then partake of the salads, soups and sandwiches on the Japanese/American menu. Soups include such favorites as carrot, beet, walnut and snow pea; the most popular sandwich is the smoked salmon and rice sandwich with cucumber. Green tea mousse is a soothing choice for dessert. For $15, there is a daily-changing bento box lunch.
