THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Tanpopo Noodle Shop Restaurant Review:
In this crazy world, it's always nice to find a little pocket of Zen. Tranquility, Tanpopo is thy name. Even when the place is packed to the rafters with people waiting to get their noodle fix, the subdued lighting, the whir of the fans, the smiles and efficiencies of the staff all make it a place to quietly enjoy a warm bowl of noodles. Their soba and udon noodle soups are simple and perfectly seasoned; the noodles themselves have just the right density. Many of the dishes make for filling meals topped with tempura shrimp, teriyaki chicken, tofu and other flavorful additions. The menu provides for more than just noodles, notably the edamame (salted soybeans) are perfectly prepared. Because the small quaint shop only seats 35 with five at the counter, there have been lines. You might try to avoid peak lunch or dinner times, or just meditate on the coming meal while you wait.
