A Tavola Restaurant Review:
Belly up to the bar and you'll find something special --- not just wood tables made by one of the owners, but hand-crafted everything. At A Tavola, in the trendy, renovated Gateway Quarter of Cincinnati's Over-the-Rhine neighborhood, a huge wood-fired oven imported from Italy takes center stage in a setting that's perfect for small groups or first dates. What sets A Tavola apart is its inventive menu and its ingredients. It has unusual offerings, such as eggplant sliders or bruschetta with bacon tapenade and goat cheese. The restaurant is known for its house-made sausage; one popular appetizer is the sausage-filled dates wrapped in bacon. Consider the fig and prosciutto pizza and the meatballs, and there are vegetarian offerings. The gelato menu changes, offering flavors from salted caramel to vanilla with a shot of espresso. Also located in suburban Madeira.
