Thai Bamboo Bistro Restaurant Review:
This crowded shopping center storefront --- well suited to a pre- or post-movie snack --- is relatively no-frills but dressed up with attractive glass tile and some decorative bamboo mounted on the walls. The menu is large, filled with predictable Thai favorites plus a few modern dishes. The pad thai is fine, and a contemporary version with egg noodles is also popular, but the panang curry definitely lacks the spirit and layered flavors one expects. But if you’re craving Thai, you can certainly fill up on satay, garlic chicken, lemon grass-scented beef, and crispy shrimp in mango sauce. Finales include sticky rice with mango or fried bananas. Other locations in Orange County.
