Tim Ho Wan Restaurant Review:
Palms Casino Resort has launched a Las Vegas outpost of the renowned Hong Kong-based dim sum restaurant. Décor elements include accent tones of jade and gold, and tall windows framed with sculptural stone; there is an exhibition kitchen, too. The menu features Tim Ho Wan specialties such as baked BBQ pork buns, sticky rice in lotus leaf and pan-fried turnip cake; and dishes unique to this location like a Wagyu bundle with apple and mushroom, shrimp toast with truffle and foie gras, and a lobster and black bean rice roll. The food is complemented by a spirits list with Japanese whisky and traditional Chinese liquors, among them baijiu; cocktails including a Litchi Martini with Absolut, Ganbei Baijiu, lychee, guava, peach and citrus oil; and a tea program – look for Jasmine Pearl (mo li zhen zhu) and Hong Kong-style coffee milk tea.
