Tinker Street Restaurant & Wine Bar Restaurant Review:
Inspired, full-flavored cuisine is putting this former cottage nestled in the Herron Morton Historic neighborhood on the culinary map. Seasonal vegetables shine in such dishes as cream of morel soup or red and yellow beet soup with Thai and lemon oil. Fresh asparagus is blistered and paired with preserved lemon and quinoa, while calamari salad stands out with chilies, carrots, mint and peanuts. Halibut teams with fresh peas, gnocchi and a lemon beurre blanc and braised pork belly teases the taste buds with house-made kimchi and sorghum grains all topped with a runny yolk fried egg. The wine selection is good and servers are quick to knowledgeably suggest pairings. Desserts require no prompting with choices like a lemon meringue Twinkie, three-layer chocolate cake or chèvre cheesecake with blueberry compote. Please note, reservations are not accepted at this 21 and over dining spot that has foodies vying for a table in the small dining room or spacious patio.
