THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Trattoria A Scalinatella Restaurant Review:

After climbing a long flight of stairs you ascend into one of the city’s more interesting dining rooms which is set above a café. Even though it occupies a prime spot on busy Hanover Street, this upstairs location makes it feel hidden. Now add in a fireplace, dim lights, starched linens and solicitous service, and presto, you have a little gem. Popular with foreign students and the nightclub crowd, they come because there’s an overall suave vibe working here. We go because of a very nice wine list (the owners also has a small wine shop) and delicious Sicilian food. Pappardelle tossed with wild game ragu, shrimp cakes and stuffed rabbit-all dishes you don’t find anywhere else. The mostly Italian staff adds to the charm and now that the city has banned smoking, our one time carp with the place, has been eliminated.
