Travail Kitchen and Amusements Restaurant Review:
Travail Kitchen and Amusements, located a few miles north of Minneapolis, takes the last word in its name very seriously. The restaurant is relocating to a three-story space, but in the meantime the team presents “Uffda,” a Scandanavian/Midwestern-inspired menu in collaboration with “The Queen of Pork,” Karyn Tomlinson, in Minneapolis. Over in Robbinsdale, Travail’s Basement Bar serves à la carte dishes and cocktails, vibations (spirit-free beverages), beer and wine. Guests will encounter dishes like live mousse with brûlée, caramelized shallot, compressed apple, apricot mostarda and pretzel; a “Broadway Burger” with American cheese, chow chow pickles and mustard emulsion; and rib-eye served with bordelaise. Reservations are available via the Tock ticketed system, but there are still a limited number of seats for walk-ins.
