THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Trente Cinq Restaurant Review:
Trente Cinq, or “35,” is the only Belgian restaurant in the Valley. But owner Lionel Geuskens crafts dishes tempting to diners of all cultures. Waterzooi may sound intimidating, but it’s a lovely mélange of Belgian salmon, halibut, shrimp, scallops, mussels and vegetables swimming in velvety saffron-cream broth. Who doesn’t love something braised in beer, and flamade simmers beef, apples and prunes in dark Belgian brew. Then, there are moules, a big bowl of plump mussels steamed in wine, vegetables and herbs, paired with Belgian fries (for dipping in mayo, instead of ketchup). The setting is Euro-charming, the service is comfortable, and by the time you’ve finished tartiflette (sliced potatoes, bacon and apple baked in lots of lush Reblochon cheese), you’ll be singing Belgium’s national anthem (which, by the way, is The Brabançonne).
