True Food Kitchen Restaurant Review:
One of the go-to restaurants in Fairfax’s Mosaic District is this corner place that attracts huge crowds at mealtimes. In warm weather, outdoor seating offers a view to the street scene, but indoors gives patrons a close and personal look at the open kitchen and busy chefs. Part of a national restaurant group, True Food entirely focuses on healthful meals and drinks. For a wild refresher, why not kick off lunch with a Kale Aid or a Root & Remedy with beets, ginger, carrots and turmeric? Midday and dinner starters, salads and even some entrées are similar, with such offerings as miso soup and kale and avocado dip, Mediterranean chopped salad, or a plump and juicy bison burger. In the evening, the selection of mains expands to include red chili shrimp and Moroccan chicken. For dessert, consider chia seed pudding and cranberry almond cake with frozen yogurt. Want something stronger to drink besides kale? Check out the cocktail and wine lists.
