THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED The Veranda Restaurant Restaurant Review:
The Veranda is one of the loveliest hotel restaurants in the city. Breakfast is an elegant meal, although not very creative. The Sunday jazz brunch with its multiple buffets and food stations, however, is a must, especially during the fall before a football game at the Superdome. The two dining rooms are so dissimilar that they could be mistaken for separate restaurants. One is a lofty, glass-enclosed space containing a profusion of tropical plants and lacy-iron garden furniture; the other, a cluster of smaller formal rooms, suggests a stylish antebellum Southern home. Lunch and dinner are rather nondescript meals, with lackluster takes on Creole dishes. The wine list is respectable and well thought out. Service is uneven.
