THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Vidal's European Bistro Restaurant Review:
Cant get away for a European vacation? You can at least spend the evening (in spirit) across the seas at Vidals European Bistro, a real taste of old country charm. Owner Vidal Bitton prides his restaurant and menu on authenticity and it shows. Dine al fresco street-side on the heated outdoor deck in the cooler months or on the backyard patio overlooking Lake Washington when its warmer. Start with the Dungeness crab cakes in a red bell pepper bisque or the intricate multi-layered tower of tuna tartare, mango, chutney, capers, red onions and cabbage. Among the signature main courses, opt for the citrus-marinated chicken breast stuffed with prosciutto, feta cheese and basil in a Marsala sauce, or the grilled New York strip smothered in a portobello mushroom sauce served with grilled vegetables. Vidal offers a fresh fish of the day as well as a seared ahi dish presented on a spinach and sun-dried tomato couscous in a spicy white wine sauce. Dessert menus are presented along with strong advice to try the triple layer chocolate mousse cake and crème brûlée. The 300-plus labels on the wine menu represent all of the major European countries as well as the U.S., Chili and Australia.
