Wilde Bar & Restaurant
A Boystown Irish pub inspired by Oscar Wilde.
Wilde Bar & Restaurant Restaurant Review:
Who would have thought that what East Lakeview residents really needed – and wanted – was an Oscar Wilde-inspired Irish pub with all the traditional trimmings? But step inside this handsome spot – flush with dark wood, big leather booths, two fireplaces and stained-glass domes – and you’ll find a lively crowd (and somewhat atypical menu) almost any night of the week. In a 'hood full of restaurants and bars that cater to the local gay clientele, Wilde Bar & Restaurant manages to work for everyone (there’s even a kids’ menu). The menu is just as diverse, with items ranging from curried mussels to crab cakes to grilled Caesar salad. But you can easily skip all that and grab a fine pint of Guinness and a plush leather chair in the “library” instead. Good luck reading after you've had a couple. For dessert, opt for the sticky toffee pudding and Irish coffee.
