THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED The Witch Restaurant Review:
The Witch has flown into the spot formerly operated by Peppercorns in South Philly. Run by a chef who last worked at Django (RIP), the menu is straight ahead New American with a great line-up of beers on tap. Start with the chopped salad or the ceviche, then move on to an array of fresh salads, sandwiches, including a very good burger, and some surprisingly sophisticated large plate options. The day boat scallops were paired with succotash during summer, and Pocono baby trout keeps fine company with a lemony couscous drizzled with a Belgian ale beurre blanc. Give this place a try on a Tuesday when four courses are available for just $20.
