THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Working Class Kitchen Restaurant Review:
Working Class Kitchen in Long Beach is a butcher and sandwich shop from restaurateur Michael Dene (Michael's on Naples Ristorante, Michael's Pizzeria, Chianina Steakhouse). Out front there are a few picnic tables on the sidewalk, so guests can bring along their dogs. Inside you'll find a rustic communal table alongside the display case and ordering counter. The chalkboard menu features a variety of sandwiches (meatball sub, corned beef, etc.), sausages, salads and poutine with smoked Chianina beef. The best-selling burger is made with grass-fed, corn-finished Chianina beef, which comes from the restaurant group's exclusive herd. (The slaughtering is done according to European Union standards, which are more stringent than in the U.S.) Patrons can also pick up Chianina beef to prepare at home, but keep in mind that it's not always in stock due to the limited supply. There are plenty of additional options, including chicken and Liberty Farms duck. Look for more exotic offerings like boar and buffalo during game season. Also available are house-made beef jerky and OC Baking Company bread as well as olive oil, balsamic vinegar and Caputo "00" pizza flour under Working Class Kitchen's own label. There are a few wines by the glass, along with several craft beers on draft. Neighboring store Urban Americana periodically turns its patio into a beer garden, with Working Class Kitchen serving up Chianina tacos.
