THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Yarrow Bay Grill Restaurant Review:
THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS CLOSED At this casually elegant waterside restaurant almost every table offers a Lake Washington view, and service---unfailingly polite---is crisp as a new dollar bill. This place has so much going for it---we would go even if the food weren't very good, but it is. Dishes are well prepared, beautifully presented and eminently satisfying. We were very impressed with Manila clams in a black bean and scallion-studded liqueur, fragrant with Chinese aromatics, but somewhat less so with mussels in a coconut-heavy curry broth. But oh, those seared scallops, napped with brown butter, gewürztraminer and sage! The Northwest bouillabaisse is a winner, loaded with prawns, salmon, crab, clams, mussels and scallops in a savory saffron broth, and garnished with vibrant red pepper rouille. Meat is equally well-prepared, in particular the braised rabbit with chanterelles in a robust, roasted shallot demi-glace. We'd skip dessert and opt for a glass of port, though probably not the Porto Rocha Millennium Tawny, a century-old blend that goes for $99 a glass.
