THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Zodiac Restaurant Review:
Funky little Zodiac, just across from the Everyman Theater and the independent Charles cinema, is back on its feet after a short hiatus, serving up an inventive menu spotted with vegetarian and vegan offerings. The digs are fun, with an appropriately celestial mural taking center stage behind a vintage bar. And the kitchen is playful in its renderings of dishes like the Artemis-Choke (a fennel-stuffed artichoke with roasted red pepper sauce) and Galileo's Discovery (penne pasta with artichokes, sun-dried tomatoes, and goat cheese). The crowd is generally twenty-to-thirty-something, often spilling back and forth from the Club Charles, film director John Waters' favorite bar, next door. But hey, a lighthearted dinner here and a movie at the Charles is good fun for adults of all ages.
