One of the best-known names in the industry, Kendall-Jackson is recognized for producing fine Sonoma Valley wines. Their 2012 Outland Ridge Pinot Noir, however, hails from the Anderson Valley AVA — part of the larger Mendocino AVA northwest of Sonoma — and was created to showcase the impressive terroir of this less-known region. The result is complex with a bouquet of raspberry and a round palate with ripe fruit and stone, plus that long silky finish.

Suggested Cut: A quickly seared, thin skirt steak is the perfect companion for this Pinot Noir.
