One can bar hop at The Venetian and The Palazzo through its new "Bar Hop" promotion. For $75, guests receive a wristband that provides unlimited well drinks, house wines and domestic beers from noon-midnight at the properties’ Salute Lounge, Laguna Champagne Bar, La Scena Lounge, Fusion Latin Mixology Bar and Oculus, plus complimentary admission to both V Bar and Azure Luxury Pool. Or for $150, the Weekend Hop runs from Friday at noon until Sunday at 6 p.m. The deal lasts through the end of summer. Wristbands are available at any Venetian/Palazzo box office. Morels French Steakhouse & Bistro at The Palazzo has kicked off a new daily happy hour that may be one of the longest in town. Offered in the bar and outdoor patio lounge from noon-6 p.m. daily, the deal is for two-for-one well drinks, select bottled beers and red and white wine selections. There is also a special lounge menu, which includes more than 60 artisanal cheeses and charcuterie choices. BOA Steakhouse and Sushi Roku are offering a 20-percent discount for locals through Labor Day. Meanwhile, all guests can choose from a $45 prix-fixe “summer break” menu with a starter, entrée and dessert. Choices for BOA include organic baby greens, beef medallions and vanilla bean crème brûlée. The Sushi Roku menu features an appetizer trio of miso-glazed popcorn shrimp, salmon carpaccio and Kobe beef skewer, assorted sushi selections, grilled petite filet, and a dessert of mini chocolate cake or fresh fruit and sorbet. More than 1,200 turned out for the launch of Las Vegas’ newest farmer’s market July 14. The Downtown FEED (Fremont East Entertainment District) is located indoors at Azul at 115 N. 7th Street behind the El Cortez. The air-conditioned, temperature-controlled atmosphere is keeping both the produce and patrons from wilting. More than 15 area growers are bringing in fresh fruit, vegetables and spices grown in Henderson, Las Vegas and Pahrump. The market takes place every Thursday from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Free covered parking is available courtesy of the El Cortez, and metered spaces are available in front of the farmer’s market.
Scott Conant’s D.O.C.G. at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas has added grilled options to its menu. Additions include a beef filet ($33), a New York strip ($39), a rib-eye chop ($59), a Berkshire pork chop with glazed balsamic reduction ($27) and Australian lamb chops ($32). The rumor mill is churning and the smart money is on Gordon Ramsay opening a steakhouse on the Vegas Strip at Paris Las Vegas. In late June, while filming an episode of his "Hell’s Kitchen" show at the Paris, Ramsay dropped plenty of hints, and at one point said his new restaurant will be “… just steps from this theater.” The execs at Caesars Entertainment, Inc. are keeping mum for now, but rumor has it that Gordon Ramsay Steakhouse will open at the Paris in about four months. Koi at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino has debuted its “buzzed mochi” menu. Four new cocktail-inspired dipping sauces have been created from popular liqueurs to offer a booze-infused after-dinner treat. The pairings include mango mochi-mango fruit salad highlighted with notes of Grand Marnier, strawberry mochi-chocolate-covered strawberries enhanced with a Godiva White Chocolate liqueur sauce, green tea mochi with Bailey’s Irish Cream dipping sauce, and chocolate mochi-cocoa flavors married with hints of hazelnut through a Frangelico sauce.
