Openings
Joseph Calabrese (formerly of Ambria and Spiaggia) is behind Café Touché, a sibling to nearby Zia's Trattoria. Alsatian classics and bistro faves pepper the menu. But here, the Lyonnaise salad sports Nueske bacon, and general manager David Ligon (who clocked time at Va Pensiero and Trio) presides over the Edison Park digs. Café Touché, 6731 N. Edzo's Burger Shop---an Evanston newcomer slotted to open in September---is the brainchild of Eddie Lakin (ex-TRU). Neapolitan pizzas are fired in a 1,000-degree wood and coal-burning oven at Castel Gandolfo, a spot where you also can count on the sausage being good (Jane Jasnak, whose parents used to own Bobak Sausage on Archer, is behind it). Organic eats in Bridgeport? Who knew? Now, you can grab a healthy breakfast or lunch---such as chilaquiles and burgers---pre-Sox game at Nana. Nana, 3267 S. Halsted St., Chicago, IL 60608, 312-929-2486.

The former home of Jacky's Bistro will open as Jacky's on Prairie in mid-October. Expect globally infused French fare, courtesy of exec chef Jonadab Silva (along with David Lipschutz of Blind Faith Café), as well as about 200 wines. Chef Shuffle
Paul Fehribach---the man behind Big Jones---finally has some help. He's brought on Corey Fuller (Alinea) to tweak the menu. It closed for a few days in early September and is reopening with some more inventive takes on Southern cuisine. Big Jones, 5347 N. Clark St., Chicago, IL 60640, 773-275-5725.
