Chef/restaurateur Wolfgang Puck Chef/restaurateur Wolfgang Puck opened the original Spago on the Sunset Strip in the 1980s, and he’ll be returning to the famed Sunset Boulevard in Spring 2021 with two restaurants at the Pendry West Hollywood. Merois will be an open-air, rooftop restaurant highlighting Japanese, Southeast Asian and French/California cuisine. There will be signature dishes such as Snake River Farms dry-aged tomahawk rib-eye, as well as new, seasonal creations. Ospero will be a European style café featuring an all-day menu including salads, handmade pastas, vegan dishes and house-made pizzas from a wood-burning oven. Ospi in Venice Jame Enoteca chef/owner Jackson Kalb and co-owner Melissa Saka are introducing their second concept, Ospi. The name comes from ospitante (“host” in Italian), with the intention that guests will feel as comfortable as if they were at a friend’s dinner party. Chef Curtis Stone Chef Curtis Stone has opened Picnic Society at The Grove. This is his third restaurant in the Los Angeles area, joining Gwen and Maude. There is full-service, outdoor dining as well as a market for cheeses, charcuterie, salads and sandwiches, plus picnic provisions like blankets and miniature tables. Jean-Georges Beverly Hills at Waldorf Astoria Re-opening of Jean-Georges Beverly Hills Terrace
Jean-Georges Beverly Hills at Waldorf Astoria re-opened on October 1, 2020, with socially distanced terrace dining. Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten and executive chef Steve Benjamin have created a new eight-course tasting menu offered Thursday through Saturday evenings with seatings at 6 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. Among the courses are toasted organic egg yolk with caviar and dill; king crab risotto with black pepper and dill; caramelized Wagyu beef tenderloin with a beet-red wine reduction and potato dauphinoise; and warm chocolate cake. New dishes will be introduced each month. The tasting menu is priced at $180 (exclusive of tax and gratuity) per person with optional wine pairings for $140.
