Ojai has a new eatery for serious vegetarians. Hip Vegan Café's all-vegan and organic menu features soups, salads, sandwiches, wraps, quiche, raw food, baked and raw desserts, smoothies and date shakes. Dinner and a Movie at Jonathan's at Peirano's
Jonathan's at Peirano's restaurant in downtown Ventura has collaborated with the Ventura Film Society to offer patrons "Dinner and a Movie." A special three-course menu from chef-owner Jason Collis is just $20, including a glass of wine/beverage, tax and tip. The event takes place first and third Tuesdays, February 1 through April 19. Here Come the Trucks
The food truck phenomenon continues. A new mobile gourmet food service in Santa Barbara specializes in an eclectic mix of Mediterranean, French-Mex (think brie quesadilla with mango) and French-Vietnamese fare. Bouchon Chef Greg Murphy Hosts 'Foodie Strolls'
Join chef Greg Murphy of bouchon restaurant in Santa Barbara for an informative "Foodie Stroll" through the local farmers market. Guests will rendezvous with chef Murphy and select ingredients before returning to bouchon for dinner at 6 p.m. Local wines will be chosen to accompany the evening's meal.
