Openings

Mochidoki has opened in Soho, selling flavored mochi, ice cream in an edible cup made of dark chocolate, matcha lattes topped with gold leaf, and other sweets and beverges. Lunch daily .
 
There are more than 16 draft beers and roughly 350 different canned and bottled beers on offer at Craft + Carry's newest location in Murray Hill.
 
Mad Morton is a new cocktail bar in the West Village with funky lighting, stone archways, and a a wrap-around bar. The menu is inspired by chef Mike Maitrel-Burgard’s time cooking in the French Caribbean. Dinner Wednesday - Sunday .
 
Food and drink from Hokkaido, a northern island in Japan, is the specialty at Dr. Clark. The restaurant will serve lamb barbecue called jingisukan, and sea urchin and seaweed dishes, specialties in the region.
 
The fourth location of the seafood spot The Mermaid Inn has opened in Chelsea, in the former Red Cat space. The menu features oysters, lobster knuckles “escargot style,” fish tacos, and simply grilled fish and steak. Dinner nightly.
 
& Sons is a cozy 20-seat ham bar in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens which celebrates all things American cured ham from sommelier and winemaker André Hueston Mack.
 
Ramen master Fumihiro Kanegae, who helped open Ippudo, has his first solo restaurant in Cobble Hill. Karazishi Botan features his own take on ramen like Ti Amo, a chicken and oyster soup with chicken chashu, mashed potatoes, and crispy bacon. Dinner nightly.
 
The Tillage is a restaurant from the owners of the Harrow, in Hell’s Kitchen, featuring American food with touches from around the world, like a vegetable shepherd’s pie, Caesar salad with sweetbreads, and salt-baked branzino.
 
Colin Stevens, formerly of the bar at the Times Square Edition, is behind Thyme Bar, a cocktail lounge with a focus on sustainability and a mini-greenhouse.
 
Kunihide Nakajima, who used to cook at Sushi Inoue, has opened Nakaji and the Bar at Nakaji in the Canal Arcade in Chinatown. There's both a 10-seat omakase sushi bar and a cocktail bar which serves limited-edition Japanese whiskies and cocktails.
 
A classic French bistro called Loulou has opened in Chelsea, serving duck leg confit, foie gras, and salad niçoise from chef Jarett Brodie.
 
Poached chicken with Vietnamese coriander and cured eggs and whole fried fish in a Red Boat vinaigrette are on offer at Bolero, Matt Le-Khac's Vietnamese restaurant in Williamsburg. Dinner nightly. Bolero, 177 Bedford Ave., Brooklyn, NY 11211, 718-388-6801.
 
American Brass on the waterfront in Long Island City offers indoor and outdoor seating along with striking views of the Manhattan skyline. Chef Raffaele Solinas’ menu features steak tartare, rôtisserie chicken and vegetable pot pie. American Brass, 201 50th Ave., Long Island City, NY 11101, 718-806-1106.
 
Restaurant-cocktail bar Peak is situated at the peak of 30 Hudson Yards, the tallest tower in the complex, on the 101st floor. Chef Christopher Cryer, formerly at Seamore’s, cooks New American cuisine. Peak, Hudson Yards, 30 Hudson Yards, 101st Floor, New York, NY 10001, 332-204-8509.

Studio 54 at Brooklyn Museum
An homage to Studio 54, The Norm 54 at the Brooklyn Museum serves disco fries with melted cheese, Waldorf salad, and disco-themed cocktails to accompany the museum's Studio 54 exhibit. The Norm 54, Brooklyn Museum, 200 Eastern Parkway, Brooklyn, NY 11238, 718-230-0897.
 

Chef Shuffle
Executive chef Randall DeFalco, formerly of The Sea Grill at Rockefeller Center, is behind the restaurant Ama, part of a co-living space in the neighborhood called the Collective Paper Factory. The menu includes ricotta meatballs, mushroom risotto, and a brisket burger. Dinner nightly .
