•Mikiya Wagyu Shabu House, the latest opening from Chubby Group (the team behind The X Pot and Chubby Cattle), has opened its first Las Vegas location in Chinatown. The menu offers three-tiered all-you-can-eat options, priced at $45, $55 and $78, which include domestic, Australian and Japanese wagyu. Each price point also includes a specialty dish appetizer (such as such as foie gras, sweet shrimp sashimi, wagyu nigiri, wagyu tartare and wagyu bone marrow), and your beef also comes with condiments of Thai chile, spicy soy sauce, sesame sauce, pasteurized egg, ponzu sauce, green onion and garlic. Four seasoned broths to cook your meat, veggies and seafood in a shabu pot at your table include sukiyaki, house ponzu, spicy-misu and Japanese tomato. The pots are conveniently divided into two sections allowing you to experiment with two different broths of your choice. • Celebrity chef duo Susan Feniger and Mary Sue Milliken (creators of Border Grill) have opened their first-ever drive-thru and and first free-standing location of their quick-serve BBQ Mexicana. Located just north of the 215 Beltway at Sunset and Durango in Southwest Las Vegas, everything on the menu is fresh and made from scratch and features their acclaimed smoked meats, which are mesquite smoked for 14 hours and include pulled pork, mesquite smoked chicken and slow smoked brisket. Several burritos and tacos are offered, such as pulled pork with manchego cheese and crispy jalapeños, avocado chicken with crispy potatoes and cilantro coleslaw, smoked brisket with chipotle mayo and habanero bbq sauce and smoked tofu with charred corn relish and pickled vegetables. A kids menu has choices of fried chicken tacos, brisket taquitos, chicken tenders, black bean & cheese burrito and quesadilla. On May 5, Borracha Mexican Cantina at Green Valley Ranch in Henderson will celebrate Cinco de Mayo with a live DJ during brunch from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and during dinner from 5-7 p.m. there will be a live mariachi band performance, followed by a DJ who will keep the party going until late. In addition, there will be a ceremonial cake cutting to celebrate the restaurant’s eighth anniversary at around 9 p.m. Three Cinco de Mayo drink specials priced at $16 each and available exclusively for the holiday, will include the Berry Blanco Buck with Espolón Blanco, blackberries, lime juice, and Fever Tree ginger beer; the Grand Margarita with Espolón Blanco, Grand Marnier, agave, and lime juice; and Raspberry Fizz with Espolón Reposado, raspberry syrup, lemon juice, and Fever Tree lime yuzu soda. Ocean Prime in the 63 Las Vegas center at Harmon and Las Vegas Blvd. is hosting a live jazz brunch on Sat & Sun from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. performed on the restaurant’s outdoor terrace (weather permitting) with view of the Las Vegas Strip. The menu includes custom built seafood tower, sushi rolls, lobster bisque, Ocean Prime house salad with goat cheese and sherry mustard vinaigrette, crabcake eggs Benedict, 6 oz NY strip and poached egg, Chilean seabass and sea scallops. Complementing the fare are citrus rhubarb mimosa, peach bellini, and cocktails such as Bloody Mary with house-made pepper-infused vodka and shrimp cocktail and Tequila Sour with Don Julio Reposado and Velvet Falernum. Flanker Kitchen + Sports Bar at Mandalay Bay is giving locals a new reason to venture out to the Vegas Strip with an all-new Industry Night on Wednesdays from 7-11 p.m. Guests with local ID will receive gourmet sliders with wagyu beef, hot chicken sando and smoked BBQ pork with beer flight pairings for $20; flamingo punch bowls for $50; and bottles of Tito’s handmade vodka for $120. In addition, from 7-11 p.m. DJ Technicolor will spin old school hip-hop and R&B, while Flanker’s 30-foot-long LED viewing screen will be tuned to sports programming. Bazaar Meat by José Andrés at SAHARA Las Vegas has introduced its Bar Centro tasting menu. The 10-course curated tasting is priced at $99 per person (plus tax and tip) and is available Sunday through Thursday from 5:30-9:30 p.m. The tasting includes super giant pork skin chicharron with Greek yogurt and za’atar spices; Ferran Adrià olives (both modern and traditional); croquetas de pollo—chicken béchamel fritters; “the classic” beef tartare with Mindful Meats beef sirloin, Savora mustard, HP sauce, anchovy and Parker House Rolls; Lucia’s salad—endive Caesar salad with parmesan, anchovy and air croutons; gazpacho with tomato, cucumber and green bell pepper; chateaubriand tenderloin; buttered potato purée with butter, butter, more butter and some potatoes; josper-roasted asparagus with black garlic Romesco sauce; and desserts of cream puffs, assorted tarts and little cakes. Honey Salt will celebrate Passover with a la carte favorites during dinner served beginning at 5 p.m from Monday, April 22-Wednesday, April 24. Fogo de Chão has launched its Fogo For $44 menu. The menu option includes the Market Table with plant-based proteins, imported charcuterie, fresh soups and salads; continuous tableside service of signature Brazilian cuts of meat that are butchered and prepared in-house and roasted over an open flame in the culinary art of Churrasco including the picanha (the prime part of the top sirloin) and fraldinha (the bottom sirloin), double bone-in pork chop and more; Brazilian sides dishes of warm Pão de Queijo and seasonal potatoes; and choice of dessert including tres leches cake, crème brûlée or chocolate brigadeiro.
