SAHARA Las Vegas is debuting its new exclusive whiskey label in partnership with Rare Character Whiskey Co. The extremely rare IRT-23/BG#38 barrel—never released before and never to be released again—is a five-year high-rye, straight bourbon aged in TN and bottled in Bardstown, KY. “This distinctive high-rye bourbon is one of Rare Character Whiskey Co.’s finest small batch selections,” said Nate Hedlund, director of beverage, SAHARA Las Vegas. “It’s distilled in the same style pioneered by bourbon legend Jim Rutledge, who worked in the bourbon industry for more than 50 years.” The limited-edition SAHARA high-rye bourbon barrel is available at Chickie’s & Pete’s Crabhouse and Sports Bar, CASBAR Lounge and The Tangier while supplies last. In addition,SAHARA Las Vegas will have another barrel release of Rare Character Whiskey Co.’s straight Kentucky rye whiskey in the coming months. NoMad Bar within NoMad Las Vegas at Park MGM has resumed its weekend brunch, served Saturdays and Sundays from 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Served in the main dining room or al fresco on the adjacent patio, the brunch features live music from a rotating list of artists. The menu includes truffle chicken sandwich for two with black truffle and foie gras; smoked salmon tarte topped with crème fraiche, trout roe and an ‘everything’ crumble which can be upgraded with up to thirty grams of caviar and blinis; breakfast burrito with suckling pig, eggs, potatoes, spinach and chile de arbol; short rib hash with a poached egg and shallot marmalade; and lobster Benedict topped with a tarragon and brown butter sabayon. Libations sharable for up to eight people and bottomless bubbles are also available, with a selection of fresh-pressed juices including orange, peach, mango and pineapple grapefruit. The Gospel Brunch at House of Blues inside Mandalay Bay will return for the first time since March 2020 on Easter Sunday with seatings at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Kids will receive eggs filled with prizes and sweet treats and adults can vie for raffle prizes. The all-you-can-eat brunch features live gospel music and a menu of Southern cooking including omelet and ham carving stations, biscuits & gravy, BBQ chicken, mac & cheese, cider-braised Brussels sprouts, andouille sausage & chicken jambalaya, chicken & waffles, salads, fruits, desserts and breakfast pastries; and create-your-own bloody Mary and mimosa bar. El Luchador Mexican Kitchen + Cantina has introduced a new brunch menu available Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at both of its locations. The menu reflects chef Aaron Bryan’s twists on Mexican cuisine staples thanks to his SoCal roots. Current brunch specials (subject to change), include chorizo burrito with flour tortilla, chorizo, eggs, potatoes, onions and peppers served with fruit ($13.99); sopes Benedict—traditional sopes with choice of meat, poached eggs, chipotle hollandaise and breakfast papas ($13.99); breakfast sandwich—Telera bread topped with chipotle aioli, choice of meat, egg, cheese and fresh guacamole served with fruit ($11.99); and chef’s brunch special with rotating offerings such as churro French toast, breakfast torta, skillets and huevos rancheros. ONE Steakhouse at Virgin Hotels, from restaurateur brothers Michael and David Morton, has launched an upscale happy hour for wine lovers. Available at the bar Sun.-Thu. from 5-7 p.m., offered are half off a rotating list of hand selected wines chosen by wine director Anthony Ramirez, including high-end labels. Piero’s Italian Cuisine will toast to its 40th anniversary and longstanding history with a specialty four-course prix fixe menu, available Tuesday, March 15 through Tuesday, March 22.
