Shake Shack, the fast casual eatery founded by Danny Meyer of Union Square Hospitality Group, has released its new bourbon bacon cheddar burger and bourbon bacon cheddar chicken sandwich. Both feature a bourbon bacon jam made with Maker’s Mark that marries the bourbon’s notes of vanilla, caramel and oak with bacon that is smoked for six hours using hardwood applewood, creating a sweet and savory sauce with smoky flavors with a bit of heat. Also released are two new shakes: chocolate churro with cinnamon churro frozen custard, spiced dark chocolate sauce, whipped cream and cinnamon waffle cone crumbles; and Oreo funnel cake with OREO cookies, funnel cake crunch, vanilla frozen custard and chocolate whipped cream. These items are available at all four local Shake Shack locations—The District at Green Valley Ranch, Downtown Summerlin, North Premium Outlets and Strip-side at New York-New York—through early Sept.
Three Square, Las Vegas’ only food bank, will convene Restaurant Week June 6-24. More than 100 of the city’s finest restaurants will offer three-course prix fixe menus—some offering breakfast, lunch and/or dinner—at price points ranging from $20 to $80. A fixed portion of the meal’s cost will directly support Three Square and the one in six Southern Nevadans who are food insecure. Last year, funds donated during Las Vegas Restaurant Week provided more than 180,000 meals to the nearly 364,000 valley residents struggling with hunger. Since 2007, more than 5.5 million meals have been provided for those in need through the event. Two weeks before Restaurant Week the mobile-friendly website RestaurantWeekLV.org will provide a list of participating restaurants, menus and special promotions with the ability to search by price point, type of cuisine and location type. Restaurant owners and chefs interested in participating should contact Three Square’s Restaurant Week team at 702-909-5519 or [email protected].
