• Las Vegas Restaurant Week Returns June 3-14
Three Square, Las Vegas’ only food bank, will convene Restaurant Week, June 3-14. More than 100 of the city’s finest restaurants will offer three-course prix fixe menus—some offering breakfast, lunch and/or dinner—at price points ranging from $20 to $120. A fixed portion of the meal’s cost will directly support Three Square and Southern Nevadans who are food insecure. Since 2007, millions of meals have been provided for those in need through funds raised during the yearly Restaurant Week. The mobile-friendly website restaurantweeklv.org provides a list of participating restaurants, menus and special promotions with the ability to search by price point, type of cuisine and location type. In addition, there are several special promotions taking place at several restaurants, which are detailed on the Restaurant Week website. • Ocean Prime Restaurant Week Prix Fixe Deal
During Restaurant Week June 3-14, Ocean Prime at the 63 Las Vegas building at Harmon and the Vegas Strip will offer a three-course prix fixe for $80 per person (plus tax and tip). The menu includes choice of Ocean Prime house salad with goat cheese and sherry mustard vinaigrette, Caesar salad with parmesan garlic dressing and brioche croutons, French onion soup with brandy and aged Swiss or lobster bisque with butter poached lobster; roasted chicken with spinach bread salad and balsamic jus, teriyaki salmon with shiitake sticky rice and soy butter sauce, Chilean sea bass with broccolini and potato purée or 8 oz filet with gouda potato cake and chili seared spinach; and ten layer carrot cake with cream cheese icing and pineapple syrup or warm butter cake with fresh berries and vanilla ice cream. • La Strega Launches "Witching Hour"
La Strega in Summerlin has launched “Witching Hour,” its take on the classic happy hour experience. Hosted daily from 4-5:30 p.m., “Witching Hour” draws inspiration from “La Strega,” which translates to “The Witch” in Italian and signifies the caretakers of the region. Drink deals are $10 cocktails including Fragola Spritz with fresh strawberries, rinomato, lemon and prosecco; $8 wine such as Sangiovese, Gabbiano, Chianti, Tuscany, Italy 2021; and $6 Peroni Italian lager. Food specials include warm tangerine and chile olives ($6); wagyu carpaccio with tonnato, pickled mustard seeds and little gem lettuce ($16); the garden with foraged vegetables and gigante bean purée ($8); focaccia bites with choice of prosciutto or ricotta ($6); polpettine with beef meatballs, whipped ricotta and pomodoro ($12); and butcher board with chef’s selection of cured meats and artisanal cheeses ($18). • Monzú Italian Oven + Bar Introduces New Seasonal Menu Items

Monzú Italian Oven + Bar has launched new seasonally-inspired dishes by chef Gino Mauro. The new menu items include:

  • Palermo meatballs ($10) with traditional pork and beef, mint, tomato sauce, currents, pine nuts and pecorino
  • durelli & melanzane agro dolce ($14) – chicken gizzard dish with in-season eggplant, Sicilian sweet and sour sauce and mint
  • risotto verde ($28) with artichoke, peas, fava, wild fennel and cured egg yolk
  • busiati gameri & pistachio ($38) – a tradition of Trapani that combines housemade spiral pasta, shrimp and a Bronte pistachio pesto
  • orata ($34) with sea bream, leeks and potato stracotto, agretti and EVOO

• Harlø Steakhouse & Bar Featuring Flavors of Spain Tasting Menu
Harlø Steakhouse & Bar in Downtown Summerlin is continuing its monthly tasting menus by executive chef partner Gina Marinelli, with the its latest tasting menu for May highlighting the vibrant flavors of Spain. Available through the end of the month and priced at $95 per person, the four-course tasting menu includes choice of pinxtos plate with anchovy toast, salt cod croquette, serrano ham and goat cheese or heirloom tomato and tuna salad with petite arugula, Guindilla peppers and Pedro Ximenez vinegar; red prawn fideo with saffron broth, English peas and house-made Spanish noodles; choice of 5 oz. Iberico secreto with papas bravas and romesco or pan-seared hake with stewed Manilla clams and fava beans; and tarta de aceite with lemon olive oil cake and stone fruit marmalade. Chef Julian Serrano’s Picasso at the Bellagio will be closing in August 2024. The acclaimed restaurant named for the authentic Picasso artwork once displayed on its walls, opened in 1998 when the Bellagio resort debuted and ushered in a new era of fine dining on the Las Vegas Strip. During its 25-year tenure, the lakeside restaurant with a stellar view of the Bellagio Fountains garnered much notoriety for its fine dining opulence. Serrano will also step away from his involvement at Bellagio’s Lago, but remains at the helm of Julian Serrano Tapas at ARIA Resort & Casino. MGM Resorts International has not announced the final day of service in August, nor has the company indicated what will be replacing Picasso. The tropical-themed Margaritaville at the Flamingo is slated to close on June 1, 2024, after its lease expires. The restaurant chain inspired by the late Jimmy Buffet’s song has nearly 30 locations worldwide and the Las Vegas location had been open since 2003. The sizeable three-level restaurant with six bars featured live music, burgers and bar food and several varieties of margaritas. A statement by the company’s senior director of marketing Chris Blatz said, “After an incredibly successful 20 years in business serving locals and travelers alike, we are saddened by the closure, but the team is actively exploring new opportunities for the brand within the city and we look forward to our future in Las Vegas."
